The right mindset to build a remarkable personal brand If you’ve read this far, well done, you are probably going to grow your personal brand faster than others. However, the success of your personal branding strategy does not only depend on the colors of your website or the amount of content you are going to produce, but also on your state of mind. For this reason, I thought to add a part on the importance of cultivating a good mindset in a personal branding strategy. Tell your story Your story is what makes you unique and different from other people who do the same thing as you. For me, you are obligated to tell your story. I’m not talking to you about revealing your privacy or private things that you don’t feel like telling, but rather to say.
What do you want to accomplish, and for what? A good starting point for telling your story is the “about” page of your site. On mine , I told of the great frustration I experienced 4 years ago when I did my first internship in the banking world. I hated it and that’s what made me get interested in entrepreneurship and then French Polynesia Email List digital marketing. I also spoke about it on the Pose ta Dem ‘site ! In fact, I tell this story as soon as I am asked about my motivations. Usually, these are the experiences that marked you (positively or negatively) that you should share as soon as possible. Be 100% authentic You will have no trouble being 100% authentic and yourself on the internet if you are already like that in reality. In my life, I have met so many dishonest people or people who adopt multiple personalities. These people, I avoid them. It is the same on the Internet. We immediately notice when the person in front of the camera is playing a role. There is not much more to say on this point! Just be yourself, don’t try to hide your personality traits and don’t lie about your own story … One way to “prove” your authenticity is to speak openly about your mistakes and what you have learned from them. I do this as often as possible on social media or my own blog.
Become “helpful” and sociable I am deeply convinced that what allowed my blog to take off was my willingness to give without expecting anything in return. Since I started I have written dozens of articles as long as this one and hundreds of social media posts. I didn’t do it for the money or to become an “influencer”. I just want to help, to produce something unique and life changing for the people who read my content. For this reason, I will always be generous in the effort. You should do the same to develop your personal brand! You will also notice that your followers will ask you questions. Answer them and always strike up a conversation. I’m not the only one doing it! Take a long-term view Do you have a long-term vision? Entrepreneurs, visionaries and people who want to change the world have one. Do not fall into the trap of money or influence to the point of losing your values. The best example that comes to mind is Gary Vaynerchuk (again). As he explains, he is ready to do anything to develop his personal brand, even if it means losing money in the short term. Of course, you don’t have to do like him! If you want to “monetize” your audience by selling online courses, masterminds, coaching, workshops; nothing prevents you from doing it as long as it does not endanger your brand. It’s normal to want (well) to earn a living.
